I think this is a really cute show and it's the kind of thing I could definitely see my former middle school performing - especially on Zoom since it clearly worked there! I just love the strong female leads and the beautiful, catchy music! There are some earworms in there for sure!
Thank you so much again for this opportunity and for writing this beautiful show - it was truly such a pleasure to be a part of! - Addie Skillman, premiere cast member

The Musical:
July 20, 1969
A young teen named Marty dreams of being an astronaut, so she invites her four best friends for a sleepover to watch the moon landing. That evening, Marty learns that there are no female astronauts in the U.S., and her path to her goal will be difficult because she is a girl.
GIRL ON THE MOON focuses on the challenges faced by girls who wanted non-traditional futures during the late sixties, and how five girls realize that they must be strong and support each other to achieve their dreams. This funny and heartfelt show features eleven memorable original songs, five varied and interesting female leads, two fun roles for boys, and a chorus.
Theater groups that have produced GIRL ON THE MOON report that casts and audiences love it, and the girls are still singing the songs weeks after the show has finished its run.
The timely message of girl power is still relevant today. Produce GIRL ON THE MOON for a very reasonable licensing fee with no hidden fees. Perusal scripts are available on request.
